Using your computer's mouse, you can easily get the idea of "piano by number."
Just click on the white key with the number that corresponds to the numbers of the song (Jingle Bells) above. You can find the song Jingle Bells in both THE CHRISTMAS CAROL KIT and PIANO IS EASY, as well as THE BIG BOOK OF SONGS BY NUMBER.
Children readily embrace "piano by number" because it yields immediate results. A childs piano lesson should be fun, rather than filled with drudgery, and PIANO BY NUMBER helps make that possible.
Please note that only the white keys of the piano are numbered and enabled in the above animation. The reason for this is simple: all piano methods start out using only the white keys of the piano because it is easier for beginners. PIANO IS EASY has songs on only the white keys.
Later, using a book such as THE BIG BOOK OF SONGS BY NUMBER, you can explore using the black keys of the piano, called "flats and sharps."
Also note that the asterix (*) is used to denote space or silence in the music, but as a beginner, you may ignore the asterix.
